Genre

In the past I used to think about genres as fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, etc. since I started this class, however, I realized that it is much more nuanced and specific and that it is the way things are expressed and the way one presents information. It will inevitably be different for a technical description than for a memo and conventions exist to make it different. During this course, we used the following forms: Memo, technical descriptions, emails, websites, PSA, lab reports, proposals, and the portfolio plus self-assessment essay. Since we did multiple genre analysis activities, I have decided to include an in-class work attachment as well as one from a reflection paper.
